Chiropractic is a health profession focusing on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of biomechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system – specifically the spine – and their effects on the function of the nervous system and general health. The spine is a critical part of the body as the main support and protects the spinal chord, which connects the peripheral nervous system to the brain.

Chiropractors are trained specialists who use modalities and adjustments to improve the body’s function. Adjustments are procedures involving the use of hands or small instruments to apply a controlled, sudden force to a spinal joint. The goal is to encourage proper alignment of the body’s musculoskeletal system and to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue injury.

A massage therapist specializes in preventative and rehabilitative care through massage therapy. They can prevent the onset of pain and accelerate recovery from existing pains. Treatment from a massage therapist can be effective for soft tissue tension, reducing stress, and improving local and systemic circulation.

Physiotherapists have in-depth knowledge of how the body works and specialized hands-on clinical skills to assess, diagnose, and treat symptoms of illness, injury and disability. Physiotherapy includes rehabilitation, as well as prevention of injury, and promotion of health and fitness. Physiotherapists often work in teams with other health professionals to help meet an individual's health care.

Dr. Manias is the founder of College Chiropractic and Sports Clinic. He is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and the University of Toronto. His clinic has been serving the community since 1980. He is a member of the Acupuncture Council of Ontario, holds certificates in Concussion Management and Independent Chiropractic Evaluations, and has a Certification in Impairment and Disability Rating through the American Board of Forensic Professionals.

Dr. Manias is passionate and fully committed to helping his patients recover quickly and effectively. He helps in resolving musculoskeletal issues that include neck pain, back pain and pain in other joint areas of the body. Headaches that are related to the musculoskeletal system are also treated. He takes the time to assist patients with understanding their condition and prescribes home exercise programs and lifestyle changes when needed. Dr. Manias utilizes electrotherapy, acupuncture and gentle chiropractic adjustments in his treatment approach.

Registered Physiotherapist - B.Sc, PT

Jigna Parmar has 12 years of experience in the Physical Therapy field. She is a member in good standing with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.

Jigna is specialized in assessing and treating a variety of orthopedic injuries including muscular pain, postural dysfunction, post-surgical, and sports or workplace injuries. Her special interest is in Shoulder and Ankle joint injury and rehabilitation. She supports evidence-based practice and believes in a client-centered approach to develop and implement specific goal-oriented treatment plans to help patients get to improve with pain-free ranges.

Her treatment includes mostly hands-on including joint mobilization, client education, manual therapy, Myofascial Release technique, and specific exercises. She promotes health wellness and quality of life for each individual. Jigna is always looking to expand her knowledge and she is going to take courses in acupuncture, concussion management, pelvic floor therapist, and vestibular therapy.

Ken graduated from ICT Kikkawa College in Toronto in 2011, receiving his Massage Therapy Diploma. He is currently a member of the College of the Massage Therapists of Ontario.

Ken believes in the importance of strong communication with his clients and enjoys helping them understand the various treatments or techniques being employed by educating about the body’s reaction to both injury and therapy. Ken utilizes fascial techniques, lowgrade joint mobilizations and stretches as a part of his treatments and focuses on restoring balance to the body.

Ken is dedicated to furthering his education and plans on becoming a certified FST (Fascial Stretch Therapy) provider. In his free time, Ken enjoys cycling in the city.
